Clean Up Day
The whole community chips in on Clean Up Day to spruce up the neighborhood in preparation for the summer season. Clean Up Day is typically held on the first Saturday of May, and work assignments are distributed in mid April. A representative from each residence is (except those 65 and older) expected to participate on a work crew.
The whole neighborhood seems to "wake up" on Clean Up Day; it's exciting to see all of our neighbors after a long winter of hibernation! The day begins around 8 am in the meadow for coffee, donuts, and gathering of the crews and culminates in a potluck dinner back in the meadow after a good day's work is done.
There is definitely a sense of community pride and satisfaction as we drive in and out of the neighborhood after Clean Up Day and admire a job well done!
